Naji Chamieh

Dr. Chamieh has a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Civil Engineering (1990) and a M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles, USA. Dr. Chamieh’s twenty-one years experience encompasses project design and development, technical implementation and contract management of solid waste, wastewater, environmental, geotechnical, civil, and allied engineering projects in the US, Middle-East, and other countries. Dr. Chamieh has a broad range of experience in solid waste management: He has served as Resident Team Leader on a 55 Million Dollar World Bank Solid Waste Environment Management Project (SWEMP) in Lebanon where he reviewed the design and operational documents for sanitary landfills, prepared tender documents for the remediation of old dumps, reviewed cost recovery plans and assisted the government in drafting new policies for solid waste management. Dr. Chamieh has also a keen interest in Renewable Energy. He established the first biodiesel plant in Lebanon in early 2006. He is also holder of three US Patents for consumer products.
